The Implementation of the Early Career Framework in Schools - Part 2

This session is a follow up to the event that took place on 23rd March 2021. Links to the recording of that event and accompanying slides will be available to anyone signing up to the session taking place on 4th May 2021.

Please note, this session is geared towards schools leaders. We will be running sessions about the ECF for trainee teachers/NQTs during the summer term.

Session Content

From September 2021 statutory induction arrangements for NQTs/ECTs are changing with the introduction of a 2-year induction period. In addition, the government is funding an entitlement for all Early Career Teachers in England to access high quality professional development at the start of their career. This programme of support and training is called the Early Career Framework.

Adam Arnell, Director of OTSA, and Patrick Garton, Director of Oxfordshire Teacher Training, will give an update on:

a) The changes to statutory NQT/ECT induction

b) The implementation of the Early Career Framework

We hope to be able to provide guidance to schools on how to register for the funded 'Full' ECF programme as well as providing more information about the programme that will be available to our partner schools. We will also suggest some possible models for implementing the changes in schools, including changes to the statutory guidance for ECT induction.

This session is designed for schools who use OTSA as the Appropriate Body for NQT Induction.
